If you are at least 18 years of age, like working with people and nature then becoming an adult volunteer at Binder Park Zoo might be just the thing for you. Orientations will be held in the spring. Experience what it is like to work at the Zoo. Binder Park Zoo offers two Zoo Teen Programs each of which strive to provide our Zoo Teens with a fun, educational and worthwhile summer experience at our zoo. Zoo Teens are required to volunteer a minimum of 40 hours between June and October 2016.

Jr. Zoo Keepers - Teens that opt for this program will work with our Animal Care Staff and will learn about basic animal husbandry (feeding and cleaning), care and well-being of our zoo animals. Teens must be willing to work inside and outside, rain or shine and be willing to get dirty.
Jr. Zoo Educators- Teens that opt for this program will work with our Education Staff helping out with camps, birthday parties, overnights, bio-fact stations and Critter Encounters with live animals. Teens need to feel comfortable around children and talking to the public.

To apply Zoo Teens must download and submit a Zoo Teen application, TB test and tetanus and may be required to interview.  Ability to work unsupervised is a must.  Both programs require a 40 hour commitment and a have a $100 fee.  For more information visit call (269) 979-1351.
