Scout & Group Overnights

Bring your scout troop, youth group, classroom, or private party to spend the night at the Zoo!

Choose from East Zoo or Wild Africa Overnight packages. See below for more details to decide which is best for your group. Six unique topics are available to choose from, or we can create a custom program just for you!

Program Details

All Overnight Packages

-Include dinner, a nighttime snack, and continental breakfast
-Programming features a live animal presentation, games and activities based on the chosen topic, and a night hike
-Free admission to the zoo the next day for all participants
-Binder Park Zoo fun patch for child participants
 (Souvenir overnight t-shirts and additional patches are available for purchase)
-Begin at 6:00 pm and end the next morning when the zoo opens
-Participants must be at least 6 years old

Note: During overnight programs, most animals are not on exhibit. Animals will be shown during the animal presentation and seen in the morning as the zoo opens.

East Zoo Overnights

-Choice of an indoor, open room sleeping area or sleeping outdoors inside a camping tent (bring your own or rent one of ours).
-Private nighttime carousel ride
-Special topic options, see below for all topics

Cost
-$800, for up to 15 participants
-$60 per additional, for a maximum of 50 total

-$25 tent rental fee, if applicable

Wild Africa Overnights

-Sleeping in the Zamani tented camp surrounding the Wild Africa savanna exhibit, pictured behind
-Tickets for giraffe feeding
-Special topic options, see below for all topics

Cost
-$900, for up to 15 participants
-$70 per additional, for a maximum of 40 total

Overnight Topics

Predator vs Prey

Come explore what it’s like to be both the predator and the prey. We’ll learn how all animals try to survive with the help of some of our animals at the zoo!

We are Family

Binder Park Zoo is full of animal families from our cheetah sisters to our rat brothers. Grab your group, and get ready to learn all about how animal families live together in the wild!

Creatures of the Night

As the sun sets, many creatures of the night come out to eat, play, and explore! Let’s learn all about the adaptations that let them roam about their dark world.

Life on The Wild Side (East Zoo Only)

It’s time to learn what it’s like to live at the zoo! We will get to go behind the scenes to see some of our animals’ indoor homes, make enrichment for them to interact with, and play games so we can understand a little bit of their world.

ZSI: Zoo Scene Investigation (Wild Africa Only)

There’s trouble afoot at the zoo! Help us catch the caper as we learn how to be the best detectives at Binder Park Zoo.

Traditions of Africa (Wild Africa Only)

Join us as we delve into some of the fascinating cultures found across Africa. Begin with an African-inspired dinner followed by games and activities that can be found throughout the continent along with an African animal presentation.
This overnight is recommended for participants aged 10 and up.
